Fear of the camera and public speaking is one of the most common challenges faced by many, whether they work in the media, the public sphere or create content for social networks. On November 30, 2024, in the inspiring space of Quo Room, a Masterclass entitled “Hone your diction, conquer the camera, create authentic content”, led by a well-known communications and PR expert, Dijana Tepsic.
This educational event was carefully designed for anyone who wants to improve their communication skills and overcome insecurities in front of the camera. Participants learned how to present themselves with full confidence, overcome stage fright, and master techniques for professional and authentic communication.
Overcoming stage fright: The first step to success
One of the most important topics of the Masterclass was how to overcome stage fright – that often paralyzing feeling that can ruin even the best-prepared performance. Through interactive exercises and examples, Dijana explained that stage fright is a natural part of any public speaking experience, but with the right techniques, it can become an ally, not an obstacle.
The combination of theory and practice allowed participants to immediately test their acquired knowledge and see progress. Key areas of work included:
- Breathing techniques for calmness and focus.
- Methods for overcoming uncertainty.
- Non-verbal communication - the importance of body language for an impressive performance.
Get out of your comfort zone.
A special moment of the Masterclass was when the participants stepped out of their comfort zone and put themselves in situations that previously seemed challenging to them. After practical exercises in front of the camera, many of them were pleasantly surprised by their progress.
One of the participants shared:
"I thought I would never be able to speak in front of a camera without fear, but now I'm sure I can. Diana made me feel like a pro!”
